Norwich East School Sports - 2012

A very warm welcome to Norwich East School Sports Partnership website at the start of one of the most exciting years in sport for our schools and our young people as we look forward to being an integral part of the legacy of the London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games.

We are progressing well with our preparations for the 1st Norfolk School Games on 18th & 19th June this year.

We have inset courses available throughout the next 2 terms for school staff offering skills and resources for each of the events in the School Games.

Our Leadership Academy this month will give students, from all 6 of our high schools, coaching opportunities which will enable them to be part of our 'workforce' of officials for competitions leading into the School Games and will hopefully inspire them to pursue further qualifications in their chosen sports

We also have an Adapted Games Day at the UEA Sportspark when young people with special needs will have the chance to participate in a variety of sports with expert guidance from coaches and trainee PE students from the UEA. It is hoped that, from that, some of them will be encouraged to take part in the Playground to Podium events in March and possibly from there into the School Games in June.

We have all of our Partnership competition dates set for the events which will allow us to select individuals and teams to represent the Norwich East Partnership. All of which can be found in our Events Calendar. Results and photographs from those events will be posted here on the website.

In the meantime our schools are busy with a variety of projects to celebrate the Olympics and to embrace the Olympic values. We look forward to featuring some of these in the coming months.
